February 1998 - After just four short months on the
Internet, I was `pursuaded` to try and build my own web site. Armed with
my old trusty Amiga 1200 and rather wonderful NetConnect software, I got
cracking despite never having used any form of HTML in the past. Eleven
days later, Footiemad part 1 hit the `Net with just seven pages to it's
name.
Feb 98 - May 2000 - Footiemad gradually evolved from a basic
seven page site to a statto's paradise with sub-indexes and various
pages which easily ran into three figures. I also launched my diary
section during WC98, originally as a piece of fun during the
competition, however I had so much positive feedback that I continued it
over the next two seasons as well
May 2000 - After a change of jobs (ironically moving into
journalism), I found that I no longer had the time to update the site on
a regular basis and after much soul-searching, decided to call it a day
in July 2000
October 2002 - Various reasons meant that I finished within
the journalism trade and found myself with more spare time on my hands.
June 2003 - Decided that I would re-launch Footiemad in a
reduced version to begin with, however ahead of the 2003-4 season, there
are still 16 sub pages to keep updated
PLEASE NOTE - Footiemad is not connected or affiliated with any other similarly named site on the
World Wide Web. I first thought of the Footiemad name back in October 1997.
